PHIL HULEBAK
The Southwest and the Rocky Mountains have been an inspiration to Phil as he has spent most of his life in New Mexico. He has had the opportunity to explore everything from the enchantment of the cliffs to the depths of the arroyos and the majesty of the peaks and sunsets.
As a landscape painter Phil has captured the subtlety in the light of the moment that gives on a sense of appreciation for nature and creator. Phil's intimacy with the outdoors uncovers some of the magic that makes legends. For Phil, color and harmony are his mainspring.
Phil picked up an artist brush at an early age, loving to draw. In his teens, his favorite subjects were dinosaurs and animals. At the University of New Mexico, he became fascinated wit the human body, painting models and honing his painting skills under the guidance of Mickey McConnel. As the years progressed, Phil incorporated his drawing and painting skills with his love of the human body and the outdoors.
Since 1988, Phil has been in numerous one man shows and invitational shows. His work can be seen in the November 2005 issue of Southwest Art as well as the Collectors Guide.
