Plein Air Studies

My earliest outdoor painting experience comes from a workshop I took in Taos with Michael Lynch, and then followed with Kevin McPhearson, Tom Hill and most recently Scott Christensen. I have had the opportunity to increase my skills under the tutelage of David Leffell and Sherry McCraw as well as other talented painters. Paint outs with other artists, such as Jeff Otis, and groups of painters continue to hone important skills and ideas. It is truly a wonderful feeling to set up my easel outside and paint a small study from the surroundings. It is enchanting to explore all the amazing places Mother Nature provides. Plein air studies provide a diary of all my travels in a most memorable way.
